Des Moines New Age & Psychic Fair

This event went better than I could have ever hoped! We launched Winterset by author Dennis Maulsby and totally sold out of copies. 

We used 'event paring' to select this event to launch WINTERSET. What that means is we paid the book with an event that it was most likely to sell at. It's a myth that books should be sold at book events and we just proved that. With all copies sold we blew our expectations out of the water. 

We need to give a shout out to our author Dennis Maulsby, who is the best book seller we've met. 

He does this by selling himself. The way he interacted with people was amazing and his generosity was a warm welcome. 

On the eve of this event our founder got very ill and was unable to attend. Dennis stepped up and not only promoted and sold his book, but also promoted all our authors there resulting in multiple sales. 

We could not have had such a good event without him or without the Des Moines New Age Shop who hosted. Along with them we met many other wonderful people and reconnected with old friends. 

This goes to show that selling yourself and taking the time to help others can make a world of difference. We will definitely be attending this event again! This fair was a first for the Des Moines New Age Shop and netted over 1500 people through the door (and we found a few who snuck through the back).
